2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Data

• Name, email, phone number (for registration and communication).
• Authentication data via Firebase Authentication.

2.2 Listing Data

• Vehicle photos, description, price, contact information.
• Approximate location (wilaya and commune): we do not share exact addresses for private sellers.

2.3 Usage Data

• Search history and listing interactions used for favourites, seller statistics, and service functionality.
• Crash reports and diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics.
• Technical identifiers used for authentication, security, and abuse prevention.

3. Lawful Bases for Processing

• Contract: To provide marketplace services.
• Legitimate interest: To prevent fraud and improve security.
• Consent: For optional permissions in the app, such as camera, photos, and location.

4. How We Use Your Data

• Operate the marketplace and connect buyers with sellers.
• Prevent fraud and illegal activity.
• Improve the performance of the website and the app, and the user experience.

5. Data Sharing

We never sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Firebase/Google: For authentication, storage, database functionality, and crash reporting.
• Anthropic (Claude): to check new and edited listings automatically before they're published: only the listing's photos and details, never your name, phone number or email (see section 7).
• Legal authorities: If required by law.

6. Advertising & Tracking

Neither the website nor the current iOS version displays third-party advertising. Neither includes Google AdMob, and neither uses the advertising identifier or tracking across apps or sites.

• We do not sell your personal data.
• If advertising is introduced later, we will update this policy and the App Store disclosures and obtain any required consent before enabling it.

7. Service Interactions & Crash Reporting

We record necessary first-party interactions such as searches, favourites, and views in Firebase to provide marketplace features. In the app, we use Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and improve stability.

• We do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
• Before a listing is published, its photos (up to 12, resized and without location data) and its details (make, model, year, mileage, price, fuel, gearbox, body type and description) are checked automatically by an AI service, Anthropic (Claude), acting as our processor, to detect fraud, inappropriate content and listings that break our rules. Your name, phone number and email are not sent. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. The result of the check is kept with the listing and deleted with it. When the check is unsure, a person reviews the listing. You can also correct the listing and send it again, or contact us to ask for a person to review the decision.

8. Data Retention

• Account data: for as long as the account exists. It is erased when you delete the account, and backup copies disappear within 30 days.
• Deleted listings: erased at once with their photos, and backup copies disappear within 30 days.
• Logs and analytics: 12 months maximum.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data.
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Data portability (where technically feasible).

10. Data Deletion Request

You can request deletion of your data via:

• In-App: Settings > My account > Delete account.
• Email: help@autosoug.com with subject "Data deletion request".

We will process your request within 30 days. Deleting erases your account, your active listings, your favourites and your saved searches, and it cannot be undone. Some data may be kept in anonymised form for analytics.

11. Cookies & Tracking

On the website:

• Essential cookies only: For secure sign-in and site preferences.
• We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• Usage statistics: the website counts searches (the make, model, wilaya and filters chosen, the page and the number of results; for any text typed, only whether there was one, never the text), views of a listing, reveals of a listing’s or a showroom’s phone number (the number itself is never stored) and clicks on a listing’s or a showroom’s WhatsApp button, without cookies. Each count keeps the page language, the device type (mobile, tablet, desktop or unknown, nothing more) and a visitor code valid for one day only, computed from your IP address and browser, which are not stored; it cannot link your visits from one day to the next. Technical errors are sent to our error-monitoring service only when it is switched on, with personal data removed as far as possible.

12. Children & Minors

Our services are intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

13. International Data Transfer

Your data is stored and processed by Firebase (Google), whose servers may be outside Algeria. A listing's photos and details are also sent to Anthropic, outside Algeria and notably in the United States, for the automatic check described in section 7. These providers process the data on our behalf and only to provide the services described in this policy.
